For Milk Coolers

Test results in Nevinox’s laboratory:

Tests under normal conditions:

Conditions:

* 3100 litres tank 4BII – R404A
* 4th milking: 2170 litres from 11.9 to 2.9°C (One milking of 543 litres)
* Ambient temperature: 20°C
* 300 litres water tank at 11.6°C

Results:

* 300 litres of water heated at 57.2°C

* Milk cooled in 1h56min,

* Energy consumption for cooling: 18.2 Watt/hour per litre of milk

* Energy saved in water heating: 29.3 Watt/hour per litre of milk,

* Global COP: 3.85 (1 Watt electrical energy used provides 3.85 Watt cooling + heating energy)

* Yield in heat pump cycle : 0.97 litre of water heated from 12 to 55°C for 1 litre of milk cooled from 35 to 4°C.

Testing in extreme conditions

Conditions:

* 3100 litres Tank 4BII – R404A
* 1st milking: 543 litres from 35.4 to 2.9°C
* Ambient temperature : 5°C
* 300 litres water tank at 4.9°C

Results:

* 300 litres of water heated at 53.6°C

* Milk cooled in 1h30min,

* Energy consumption for cooling: 13.9 Watt/hour per litre of milk

* Energy saved in water heating: 31.2 Watt/hour per litre of milk,

* Global COP: 4.96 (1 Watt electrical energy used provides 4.96 Watt cooling + heating energy)

* Yield in heat pump cycle : 0.90 litre of water heated from 12 to 55°C for 1 litre of milk cooled from 35 to 4°C.
